The Roar of the Crowd

Which sporting event has the hum of the crowd that you prefer to hear?

They're different, you know, those hums. I just noticed this; flipping between channels showing football and baseball games. Even the sound of the crowd at college football games is different than the soft roar of an NFL crowd. To some fans, this sound must be music.

Which do you prefer?

Baseball, of course. Lois & I used to love to listen to it at night when we were little.

This is true. Baseball is fab. But becaues I'm partial to autumn, I may lean a little toward football -- at least these days. For me there's almost nothing better than cracking open the sliding glass door, pulling the blinds to let sunshine in, curling up in ball on the couch with a blanket, and listening to the NFL game my husband is watching on a Sunday afternoon.

Mine's baseball. I'm with Tex here. The sound is so comforting.

The very, very low hum at a tennis match is pleasant, too.

. . . or that nice shirll grunt from Monica Seles, as she swung at every ball. Ahh, that takes me back to my childhood. . .
