Read the short article (thanks Aunt Suzie) and I think you'll agree that these charges will eventually be dropped. Children who have been abused don't carry signs outside the courthouse thanking their father for spanking them.

Shocking, surely this will not go very far? I agree, things are quite messed up.
Also, by following a crowd, or generally way of thinking (i.e. all spankings are abusive) it is all too easy to make criminals of the innocent-- sort of like the crowd long ago-- with the choice between Jesus and the criminal -- they yelled to release the criminal.
