That is a good one. There's an obvious point I just have to comment on regarding these violent protests - if we have offended others so much, why would they choose to offend us the same way. Showing their religious leader in a cartoon - against their religious law. Killing someone as a result of a protest - against our religious law plus I would assume every country's law period. I've tried to teach my kids that to 'get back' at someone for offending you makes you worse than the offender. To have such a strong reaction gives the offender power over you. To have a peaceful, imaginative response or no response at all takes the wind out of their sails. But hey, what do I know about world peace, I'm just a mom! When my kids would call each other names, I'd make them think of good things to say about each other. When they would do something mean, I would make their punishment to do something nice. There's something about that Great Commandment that guides me to these ideas. Of course, I had to explain to my kids that 'doing unto others as they would do unto you' does not mean 'do unto others as they do to you!'
Honestly my first impulse was to be confused by this picture. I thought, he's being ironic, how good of him. Or wait. Is he just dumb? But then, I came from a 442 grammar class five minutes ago.
