These Boots are Made for Attracting Men

Traveln' Fool has asserted that feet are a "serious sexual distraction" for men.

Are they? Is this common knowledge that has escaped me? I admit to having a bit of a foot fetish, but looking at men's feet in a pair of shoes doesn't exactly...register.

Weigh in.

Maybe I'm revealing too much about me here, but...ummm, no.

This is based on: experience; conversations with others; things overheard in locker rooms, around the water cooler, etc.; and having had Cable TV since I was in elementary school.

Am reminded of Robery Byrne's quip: "Anybody who believes that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach flunked geography." (now why I can remember that, despite it being about a decade since I read it, yet I can't remember the names of the Hebrew vowels?)

Nice work, girlfriday!!
Let's hope I stand to be corrected...so far...so good.
h.c. that's the opposite of what I've heard.
To make my case more clear, which I admit I didn't do quite as well earlier, is that shoes-especially in cases where high heels showing a lot of toe, (more so if painted) and the ankle can be problematic for some men. Meaning it draws their attention, and the ankle leads to the calf, the calf leads to the back of the knee, the back of the knee leads to the thigh....and so on and so forth...
Hob...no offense here (seriously) but how normal of a guy are you? I mean...you're a seminary student at 29! Not the norm...which is cool. I'm speaking about the average untrained (without your deep understanding of Scripture) male.
Quoting from the most excellent film Pulp Fiction:
"Would you give a guy a foot massage?"
No...you wouldn't. There's something sensual about giving a woman a foot massage, hence something sensual about feet. Would a husband give another mans wife a foot massage? Hopefully not. Sensuality is implied; painted toe nails, toe rings, anklets, high heels, stelletto's, etc.
Question: Why would a man sell women's shoes?
I said feet are a serious sexual distraction for MOST men. Not all.

I will stay tuned.

I admit to not thinking TF's hypothesis is nuts. The logic is there and we develop all kinds of idiosynchrasies.

That said, of all the body parts I'm going to concern myself with covering, feet are not at the top of the list.

You go friday,I think if women were to be modest with their bodies and flashy with their feet we would all be better off.

BTW... I think hubbies feet quite sexy in some of his shoes... weird, eh? Don't make a habit of looking at other mens feet though.

The Bible admonishes the Brethren to be modest in all dress. In this I'm sure we all fail, which is why we need to remain vigilant.

I don't think shoes are an issue for most men-just what the shoes are wearing.

If someone is wearing six inch red stilletos with sequins and green rhinestones and is modestly dressed my only thought is "That has to be painful and I hope she didn't pay for those"

If the same person was wearing black KEDS™ and nothing else-that would be a problem.

The real question is what to do about bare feet or flip flops...

Yes, Seth, I think we can all agree that would be a problem.

Also, TF, hope my comment above made sense that you make sense.

I'm okay, you're okay.

Who said that? I wonder what kind of shoes he wore...

What do you think about "Crocks", Petty? Seeings that is all you ever see your woman in... Do ya think they're "HOT"?

Sorry, I'm wandering off topic.

BTW, any other men going to chime in on this one? Maybe the ones who are attracted to womans feet are to shy to say so.
My theory is a man is working in the shoe store more to meet women than to "size" up their feet... wonder if it has worked... like how many dates from his sales?
