I suppose I can concede that the idea of Borat deserves some kind of official nod.
But, in spite of its flaws, the Academy is sending the message that it won't give best actor noms to dufi (that's plural for dufus).

OF COURSE the Academy didn't nominate Sacha. Those stuffed shirts wouldn't nominate Ali G for an Oscar. But they love the movie, and it's totally going to win best adapted screenplay.
It's such a great list of nominees, especially best picture. It's all up for grabs. Abigail Breslin might even give Jennifer Hudson a run for her money (but I'd be surprised).
This is totally Scorcese's year.
And what if "Little Miss Sunshine" just does end up winning Best Picture? That would be amazing. It got the producer's Guild Award. It's got the buzz. And with Dreamgirls out of the way. . . who knows what can happen?
I'll miss Jon Stewart, but Ellen will be fun.
I am very much looking forward to February 25.
