"Family" conference

(Now imagine me pulling out paper mâche hand puppets, all you "What About Bob?" fans)

What if girlfriday went public? No, not shareholders. But what if we started using (gasp!) our real names? I'm going to predict Lois will object to this. Thoughts, other contributors/readers?

Hello sisters...so have you seen the Adventures of Kris and Leah?...yep we use our names (gasp!) :) But we never use last names, SS numbers, addresses, or any other incriminating information. Lois, girlfriend, JEB and all others have already been outed on Adventures of K&L...so, you know...

My name is in my profile. I'm not opposed to this, generally speaking.

I say we just go by our ss numbers. Good idea, Leah.
I'm not opposed to it either, but don't you think the mystery of who we really are keeps the readers pouring in?? Will they lose respect for us? Will our real names live up to they way we've been imagined in hundreds of thousands of people's minds?

Good point, El. This must the agony J.K. feels everytime she goes to ANOTHER conference and to reveal even more information about her characters.

First, can we decipher what the heck "elphaba" means? And then maybe we can all go by versions of this - "elphabulous," "elph (not the camera)," "elphab-u," "elphantitious," . . .

That's a fantastic idea. I pick Elpha-loompus.

But seriously, it's from Wicked, and I think it's a play of words on the name "L. Frank Baum." That's just my guess.

Yeah, you really should think twice about this, Lois. You're such an inflamatory writer.

Okay, but back to Elphaba. How does this apply to you, Elph? I'm just trying to make the connection between you, Uma-esque God-fearing chica, mom, and wife and a male character in a fiction novel about a further fictionalized version of the fictional Wicked Witch of the West. ? I'm just confused.

Elphaba is a SHE, L. Frank is just the male writer of the Wizard of Oz books. And as far as the connection between the character and the girlfriday contributor, well, it might be green skin. I'm not sure I've ever seen K remove her makeup before.

Also, Elphaba IS The Wicked Witch of the West. I'm not saying that's the connection. I didn't pick the name.

Thin ice, Molly. Thin ice. Is that why you threw a glass of water on me a few months ago?

I think that all of this just proves that JEB NEEDS TO READ WICKED!

Just give into it. Totally worth it.
