Texas Teachers Will Be Voting For Him

Even if you think he might be the anti-christ his views on changing the educational system, and particulary high stakes testing, are right on the money from this teacher's point of view.
Also, be sure to listen to about three minutes in.

and he gives those of us interested in parental rights yet another reason to vote against him.

Reading over his education plan (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/), the word "expand" keeps popping up. Expand=spend more money on. That money comes from taxes, increasing the need for parents to work. But thankfully, he wants to "provide affordable and high-quality child care to ease the burden on working families"--wouldn't it be easier to just decrease taxes by cutting these programs so 'working families' can care for their own kids?

The alarm bells keep going off the more you read this plan..it won't be long at all before "voluntary, universal pre-school" becomes mandatory (think kindergarten a generation ago).

Head Start is a failure of a program, so instead of scrapping it, he wants to increase funding.

It's all about the government doing more for kids, rather than families. Scary stuff.

Right on, hobster. So he said one decent thing about parents doing the parenting. He has also said that the "average man" makes as much in a year as the "average CEO" makes in 10 minutes. Let's say the average man makes $10,000 a year, which is a very low estimate. Assuming this CEO works 40 hours a week (a minimum), 50 weeks a year, that would mean the average CEO makes $120,000,000 each year. Not possible. This guy makes no sense. He is a gigantic talking point with legs. Don't become part of the movement. He's probably going to be President because the Republicans can't find a decent candidate, but at least you won't have helped him get there.

Sorry, Molly, gotta go along with hobster and anonymous. It did make for a pretty good revival meeting, though. Dad Friday.
