Question

Several times, in different venues, since Sarah Palin was asked to be McCain's running mate, I have heard people - not a few of them women - scream that she would not have been chosen had she not been a woman. Fine. I think there is probably a lot to that notion. I'm not a hundred percent sure it's accurate, but I won't dismiss it.

But being as this is an election year, in the most powerful country in the world, and the wrong answer might blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Would Obama have been nominated if he weren't black? Well, punk, would he?

Clint would be so proud.

I don't think there's any doubt McCain wouldn't have chosen the governor of Alaska if she weren't a woman. And I don't think Obama would be the rock star he is if he weren't black.
