girlfriday: Have a good one!

I said that today to the driver of the Dodge Ram. Shucks, I'm just one of the guys.

"Have a good one." That's what half my clients and vendors hear. That, and, "Take it easy!"

The rest know me as a "Take care" kinda gal. These I know better than others. Chances are good that I know something about their lives that would warrant a "I hope your son feels better soon" or "Send me a postcard!"

A handful of them get a sophisticated "talk soon." Those conversations are short and to the point. There is no messing around with "talk soon"-ers.

A girlfriday must be elegant, down-to-earth, professional, light-hearted, encouraging, firm, friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, simple.

And she must know when to be which.*

*She fails sometimes. Forgive her.

I saw my fox again.

And it was a cat. Deceitful little bugger, what with its bushy auburn tail.

Once, on the Interstate, I saw a dead lion.

Toni Collette should have won. She should always win.

Warren Beatty's career has been anything but magnificent. "The truth is I haven't made an awful lot of movies, in fact," Beatty said, joking about the busy schedules of other older actors and filmmakers such as Eastwood and Jack Nicholson." At least he's honest.

"Something like this is enough really for a guy to go out and make another movie." Please don't.

Why does Paris Hilton, dressed like a cheap date to a frat party, get to go to the Golden Globes and I don't?

Did you know that one of those statuesque escorts was Jack Nicholson's daughter?

At least Jennifer Hudson won. That'll show 'em. I don't know what or to whom. But I think it will.
